Ala and I decided after much discussion that it is necessary for us to impose a penalty for specific actions in sea. We have done our best to express the importance of knowing where things are in sea, and also being attentive during LS runs. However, despite our efforts these things continue to happen and we cannot let it  go any longer. So, if any of the following events occurs, you will lose the points you would have normally attained for that NM or hour, and if it continues to occur within the same run it can be determined that points from your overall attendance may be deducted:

1) If you are found to be lost, or unable to perform a duty such as finding a ??? for a pop of a NM.

2) If, on any occasion, you are found to have gone afk for any length of time w/o proper notification, without due cause.

3) Apparent lack of attention, or lack of knowledge of current goals.

Ala and I are dead serious about this, the people who know how things are done and where to go in sea should not have to hold the hands of people who obviously are just leeching. If you are not sure where something is, we are more than willing to help guide you around the zone OUTSIDE of sea farming time. We only farm 3:30-4 hours a WEEK, so it is absolutely necessary that everyone who is in attendance knows what's up so we can get things done quickly and efficiently.

If you are clueless about the happenings of sea, I ask you very plainly to not come and to not waste everyone's time.

Ala and I do not mind when people need to WC or feed the baby, or w/e other rl duty you must perform. We simply ask that you let people know you will be afk for a few minutes, or if you are going to be gone for up to 10 minutes or more just drop party for mobs such as Ix'Drk where you could actually be that one person to pop it.  However, going afk without notification throughout the run will not be tolerated, there are several people in this LS who have a very bad habit of doing this, and I will be watching you.

If you are part of our sea group or plan on coming to sea, you must post in response to this post in acknowledgement that you have read and understand these rules that have been set forth.

Next saturday, please come prepared and ready to kick some ass.

I'd also like to add that we have given members plenty of time to figure this stuff out. It has been over a month since I started reminding people that you need to have your maps and know your way around. We have given extra points for people who have gotten their maps on their own and if you found ???s on the faith day in order to motivate everyone to learn your way around. Asking nicely or giving extra incentive has failed so now we are forced to resort to something a little more direct. Please understand that we cannot function as a linkshell in sea if we cannot find faith or IxDrg, for example. It isnt fair to the people who want items from the difficult mobs. Print the maps off for sea, spend some time running around, ASK for help during the week, but please, please go learn your way around. I get lost inside tin cans and I can figure out sea. If I can do it - you can do it. Thank you.

I'll admit Im a map junkie. I have every Freakn map on FFXI with very few exceptions. The inside sea map where Ix'DRK is one of them. Hell I even have crawlers nest map. (thats old school :))

With a map Im good to go. Otherwise Im screwed. Ill try to finish that map of maybe early afternoon satruday I could get some help.

Hope I was good assistance this past saturday. Sorry I didnt nuke more. Use to being yelled at for wasting mp or waking mobs.

The Altruistic Cap is one of last two enfeeble gears I dont have on my RDM. The other is the Enfeeble earring. but I had rather use the +macc +matt earrings for those slots.

Understood. Will do my best, but like Ala I get lost in my own back yard. Without in game maps i'm pretty screwed on that part. Having kids printed maps don't last long. Please keep in mind the few runs that i have done with HM is pretty much the only time i have spent in the inside area of Sea other then for CoP fights of course. So please do show a little patience and give some time to get use to the area. If it is preferred that I not attend runs until after i have mastered my way around in Sea that is fine. let me know in game ^.^

As stated Danicah, if you have trouble or need maps in sea, I or other people in LS who know sea well are more than happy to help show you around (outside of event time) so you can get a better idea of how the place is set up. All you simply need to do is ask for help.

Also, I'm not requiring people to GET the in-game maps, simply a suggestion. If you can do fine with printed out maps of sea off wiki that is great, personally I don't have the in-game maps at all, nor do I even use printed maps.

Read, understood. I've spent and spend a lot of time in sea, though I don't claim to know it perfectly. If I am not 100% on where I'm going I usually find someone who does and stick to them. If there isn't anyone to follow I usually pull up the map on my netbook and muddle my way through.
